Coriolis flow meters generally come with a fairly high degree of accuracy.
This makes this type of measuring device as an option in buying and selling fuels (custody) or food industry applications that needs the right dose in the process.
However, although many companies provide specifications for installation in their factories, we still find many of them do not know the abilities that are actually owned by the coriolis meter.

What is coriolis meter?
A coriolis meter is a flow meter that utilizes the effects of the mechanical motion of two tubes that are vibrated constantly by the coil actuator.
Look from the mechanics, ideally, this flow meter is given external power outside the loop signal.
Coriolis Flow Meter Functions
From the title above it is certain that its main function is to measure the flow rate. From its basic principle, coriolis measures the flow rate of fluid using a sensor that detects inertia from fluid flowing
in two vibrating tubes so that the basic function of this tool is to measure mass flow rate. However, if this coriolis sensor is integrated with a advance transmitter, many measurements can be obtained, such as:
volume flow rate, totalizer, net oil, and watercut.
How is the designation?
You can use Coriolis flow meters for measuring the variables mentioned above. able to measure the flow of a mixture of oil and water and show the amount and flow of each. however, there are limits that cannot be imposed. i.e. measuring fluid mixtures containing gas contents.
With so many process variables that can be drawn from the coriolis flowmeter it is not possible to pull all that data using a single 4-20mA hardwire, but you can use serial communication protocols such as Modbus.
